Dereck Higgins has been involved in music, in the Midwest, since the late 70′s, being a key player in bringing alternative music to Omaha. Of note, he was a part of a band called Digital Sex which was the first Nebraska band to get mention on MTV. It’s worth mentioning that he’s had some pretty notable shows having played alongside REM, not to mention The Dead Kennedys and NOFX during his time in the punk scene. More recently, he’s fronted his own band as well as being a member of Son Ambulance (Saddle Creek records), InDreama (Team Love records), Cleemann (from Denmark) and Rik Agnew Fiasco (punk legend who started the bands The Adolescents, Christian Death and Social Distortion).
